数字与计量

在课堂上，老师在黑板上写下 Number，问它怎样从 Zero 长到 Hundred，再长到 Thousand，甚至 Million。Ben 说自己很快就能算出来，可他把 Decimal 和饼干屑弄混了，所以老师让他先从 Fraction 和 Ratio 学起。

接着，教室里出现了一杯水，大家要猜它的 Volume 和 Capacity。Mia 用 Meter 量桌子，用 Centimeter 量铅笔，又用 Gram 和 Kilogram 量了橘子和书包；Ben 太兴奋了，差点把一杯水算成两杯。

午饭前，计时器响了，比赛开始：谁能在 Second、Minute 或 Hour 里完成题目，谁就能赢得奖品。老师还把刻度调到 Degree，说明温度和角度不是一回事，不然汤可能会被误认为是一座百分比很高的火山。

到最后，黑板上写满了 Percentage、Decimal、Fraction 和 Ratio，大家都发现数字一点也不冷。Ben 全部答对了，老师笑着说：今天你不只是做数学，你是在和一整盒彩色数字交朋友。

In class, the teacher wrote Number on the board and asked how it could grow from Zero to Hundred, then to Thousand, and even to Million. Ben said he could solve it fast, but he mixed up Decimal and crumbled cookie crumbs, so the teacher told him to start with Fraction and Ratio first.

Then a cup full of water appeared, and everyone had to guess its Volume and Capacity. Mia measured the table in Meter and the pencil in Centimeter, then weighed an orange in Gram and the bag in Kilogram; Ben got so excited that he nearly counted one cup as two.

Before lunch, the timer rang, and the race began: who could finish in Second, Minute, or Hour would win the prize. The teacher also turned the dial to Degree to show that temperature and angle were not the same thing, or the soup might be mistaken for a volcano with a very high Percentage of heat.

By the end, the board was full of Percentage, Decimal, Fraction, and Ratio, and everyone realized numbers were not cold at all. Ben answered everything correctly, and the teacher smiled: today you did not just do math, you made friends with a whole box of colorful numbers.
